Challenge

The project was to promote sustainable energy transition through energy-efficient retrofitting of residential buildings, financed by public state grants.

Results

We came up with Dat.Haus, a digital house file that quantified the energy efficiency of a building and incentivised retrofitting through investments shared by the community.

Energy transition promoted by the German state

KfW (Kreditanstalt für Wiederaufbau) is a German state-owned investment and development bank, based in Frankfurt. As of the early 20s, it is the world’s largest national development bank.

KfW promotes the energetic restoration of buildings through state funding. The lower the efficiency house level, the less energy a property consumes. An efficiency house is therefore a building that meets a certain energy efficiency level, which can be achieved through energy refurbishment.

Let’s change the world for the better.
