The project was to promote the energy transition through energy-efficient refurbishment of residential buildings financed by state subsidies.
We developed the concept of a digital house file that quantifies the energy efficiency of a building and incentivises its energetic restoration through community investment.
Energy transition promoted by the German state
KfW (Kreditanstalt für Wiederaufbau) is a German state-owned investment and development bank, based in Frankfurt. As of the early 20s, it is the world’s largest national development bank.
KfW promotes the energetic restoration of buildings through state funding. The lower the efficiency house level, the less energy a property consumes. An efficiency house is therefore a building that meets a certain energy efficiency level, which can be achieved through energy refurbishment.
